unfortunately your WRX (08 onwards) runs a turbo configuration that doesnt allow you to run the likes of vf39, td series turbos that are easily interchaged on previous impreza models

your std turbo is vf52, so cheapest option is to get another otherwise you're in for a substanial cost to modify housings to fit

You likely have the td04 turbo, the vf52 were mainly fitted to the usdm cars, although not unheard of for a vf52 to be found on some UK cars.

options td04 hybrid
source a vf52 ( quite pricey and not many about )
Get an eBay Chinese vf52 around 230ish ££ and get it rebuilt. Contact Craig bellworthy on Facebook for the build .

or front mount ic and then that opens up lots more options.
Finally you can do an inlet swap from STI but that is apparently a ball ache ( i was going to do this ).

if you're not already, join SIHOC on Facebook few on there with different setups

thought it was only 08/early 09 cars that had td04? then it all switched to vf52, pretty sure wrx-s uses vf52?

The UK Wrx-s was just a remap by prodrive and kept the td04, although a few of the owners have reported having a vf52 fitted. Wether or not it had been fitted by previous owners I don't know. Been a few posts on the Facebook group about it.

Listed part number for MY08, 09 and 10 for a UK WRX is 14411AA710 superceded by 14411AA7109L which equates to a TD04L /49477-04000

The genuine "from the factory" WRXSS as supplied to the Aus market has a 14411AA800 turbo which equates to a VF52

I had a vf43 built by Craig Bellworthy for my 08 wrx. Got 330 out of it when my car was mapped.
