Default How much For general maintenance jobs.

Hi All

Car is an 04 impreza sti
What would be the general cost(per hour or per job) for the majority of jobs associated with servicing at an experienced garage like,
oil change
rear diff and gearbox oil change
Brake disc and caliper change
clutch and flywheel change
suspension mods and alignments.

Also any recommendations for local trusted garages around the sussex, surrey, kent border

Many thanks all

My mechanic done engine oil and filter , gearbox oil and diff for £63 which was approx 1.5hours labour.
probably a lot cheaper than most as used him 10 years and he knows his was round an impreza being an owner himself.

Is that just the labour?

I paid 200 about a month ago for engine, diff, gearbox and power steering fluid changes along with filters and new fan/power steering belts and 60 about 2 weeks ago for a brake fluid change that realistically I should of done myself as the pedal doesn't feel as firm as it did when I did it myself about 6 months ago, think I need to bleed it again personally just not got round to it.

Disc, pad and caliper change I did myself it's straight forward you really can't go wrong as long as you tighten everything accordingly

Edit: all fluids were supplied by them apart from brake fluid which I supplied myself

Sorry yes that was just the labour. I've always found it cheaper sourcing own oils more specific to the car needs.

think all oils came to around the £100

£60 for a brake fluid change is pretty damn expensive considering you had to supply your own fluid. my local indy charges £30 for a brake fluid change inc fluid or £25 if you supply your own.

Looking at those prices there's some cheap nasty oil being used and I wish I could get those labour rates

I went from unknown fluid which I had previously topped up with 5.1 to dot 4 and a flush for good measure, and it was £50 not £60 my bad

I’ve just had gear box, tranny & gear linkage done for £290.
5hrs labour which to be fair it’s why I paid someone else to fit the uprated gear linkage. Probably would have taken me 5 hours just on that.

plugs can be hard work to change rest of the car is pretty easy to work on , brake wise if you have brembos fitted that can be a real bugger as threads can strip , millers nanodrive is a relatively cheap good oil , oil changes depending on use i do mine between 7500 and 10000 miles , give it a go getting your hands dirty saves a lot of money , i don’t do cam belts as i don’t want to get that wrong lol
