Newbie - looking but confused about 2.5L
Hi all!
I’ve not (yet) owned an Impreza but it’s an itch I’ve had on and off for a while. My daily driver is an F10 M5 but I’m looking for something to use for a bit of fun (smaller and lighter), something to tinker with at the weekends and better for the winter weather.
My budget is up to about £10k and I’ve been looking at the UK hawkeye STI cars, some PPP. I’ve read about the 2.5 engine issues (HG etc) but I’m not sure if this relates more to engines with mods and increased torque/power or the later 2008 onwards cars, like the sticky thread is titled. So I suppose the question really is, should I be concerned with buying a 2006 2.5 STi if I’m not looking to mod the car? Or should I steer clear and look at a different model? My preference is for a newer car, but could be pursuaded otherwise...
Thanks 👍🏻
