Why is it that when people come up to you because you drive an impreza they always have a mate with one with 320bhp. I have seen this a number of times and when I ask how they have acheived this figure they have all been chipped and running special 10" exhaust system and have twin steam engine dump valves 
and run perfectly on 95 RON.
The trouble is people are starting to believe it
Time to sell perhaps, nope just walk away

I found the same problem when I was thinking about buying my RB5.
Everyone on this BBS had a WR version

Well you should have seen this G60 at well lane today, running a 1.8 turbo engine with 379BHP 
and thats what the rollers said! (oh it was also running 2.5bar so would explode soon anyway )

It's even worse with a UK300. Most people think I've got only 300BHP or it's a 3 litre v6 quad turbo ;-). At least I know it's because of the 300 litre fuel tank and 300mph top speed.

go on the RSOC BB and ALL the RS Turbo lads have a chip, bleed valve, K+N and a zorst and they all do 200+ @ wheels!
god help them when they grow up/get cossies!
oh and all the cossie lads just giggle

Please can someone let me have the 20 (or more) extra horsepower that my sti seems to be missing? I only seem to have the alledged 300 as advertised in standard trim. Or is it 276?

It doesn't help either when dealers are popping a back box and a dodgy chip on a MY01 and saying "It's faster than an STi now".

I can go to my local Rolling Road and achieve 270 bhp easily with printout, on my standardish(BB and ind) my96 uk but that wouldnt be the TRUE figure,hes rollers read slightly HIGH!!!!!!!!!!!.
so what ever people say or show you, its all down to how accurate the rollers are.I wish they could standardise all rollers so they read the same and then you wouldnt get escort **** owners saying "ive got more power than you and it only cost me 50 quid".

You are most welcome to come and have a seat in my STi7 with a real 320BHP and all correct suspension, Exhaust etc with all the paperwork to prove it as well it seems that perhaps their are some Real cars out here, I also have a mate with a full 365BHP metro!!!! Ex works 6R4!!!!!! and the paprework to prove. I know what you mean though, I am always having people tell me that their car has ovewr 320BHP funny though no one has tried to put theirs up against mine. Cheers Ian

Don't know what the fuss is about. When my STi7 arrives it will have over 1200bhp, running on holy water (no offence to the religious) and will do 0-100 in about 1.5 seconds.
By the time I get a couple of drinks down me it will have 5000bhp and will knock anything off this planet!!

this one had a 1.8 t engine conversion, all the works but running too much boost so would eventually blow up, the other was a mk4 golf gti with 330ish bhp, running pretty standard internals and blowing nice blue smoke out the back, either way, both will explode very nicely when put to the test of time
Oh there was a proper G60 with the supercharged engine there, running 195bhp

cossiekid-why is it that all cossie owners say they have 400+ bhp with an hammerd bajing chip(or something like that )-31 actuator and a 3 bar map sensor,when they don`t make it on the rollers they all say "must be a weak actuator"

i had my car on the ramps at PowerStation yesterday having the geometries down, guess what, some lads mate had one of those with 320BHP. Oh, and an EVO6 with 400BHP, honest.
Happy with my probable boggo standard 280BHP.

Doesn't help that there are so many tuners out there who reckon it's as easy as an exhaust and filter to get this power. These tuners all seem to have 400hp Scoobs (probably with std turbos) or 450hp EVOS (it's the Blitz dumpvavle that gets the power) or 700hp Skylines (just a chip and exhaust)
Is strange that these tuners don't ever have any dyno graphs either.
Or how their cars ('specially Scoobs and Skylines) never seem to make it to any events - they are always having work done.
The bull5hit starts at the tuners and works it's way down.....

I can keep a nice fast pace in my scoob thanks to the who gives a **** amount of bhp it is churning out, the WRX gearing and my love of driving it
I am happy, I haven't taken mine in a rolling road cos I don't care what ibhp mine has, what matters to me is how it drives and performs when I am behind the wheel
