Angry

Well seeing as the other thread turned into one of the more amusing on here I thought I would let you all know how my day with GEZZA went.
Well suffice to say that I have not been as bored since being made to sit through last years cup final . Seriously though I am more than a little pi55ed off. Why? well after a three hour drive at MY expense in MY valuable time, lending MY car for the benefit of Clarkson and his production team to make this video all I got in return was a day of standing around and waiting for something exciting to happen. Alas it did not All of the car owners who kindly lent their pride and joy for the day were all treated like their presence was an undesireable consequence of getting to use their mototrs free gratis. I was not thanked once, got no more than a couple of grunts from Clarkson all day, but then what did I expect? an intelligent conversation...hmmmmm
There was even a lack of decent cars to view and we weren't aloud to drive any of the cars if their had been. My Skyline was the only Jap car to make the top ten although how they could possibly leave out performance icons like Scooby's and EVO's in favour of a Mini, Range Rover and a Cossieah (that should kick it all off again) is beyond me
To say that I will not be offering my time or my vehicle again in a hurry is an understatment.
Never mind though at least the drive home was memorable.
Cheers
Steve

Owned one - Smowned one!

That was a long-term loaner from Fomoco, Clarkster would never have parted with his own money for a Cossie!

Steve,
I know exactly how you feel. Happened to me too, with Evo magazine when I gave them the car.

Unfortunately, it wouldn't have been so bad if we never worked ourselves up to it so much, it ends up being such an anti climax.

Learn the hard way

Dingy you logger !!!!

Biffo you Clown

Memorable drive home was Higham ferrars to St. Neots road must be one of the best roads in East Anglia.
BTW as I said before my car MADE the top ten so no need for sour grapes I was just dissapointed that an EVO or mad Scoob didn't as it would have mafe the day more bearable.
Up yours Clarkson /
Steve
Cem did they really treat you like **** when you lent them your car? Just that I told David Yu that EVO could use my car for future features if they liked but I won't if it's gonna be more of the same
Don't need my ego massaging

Evo Magazine use your car and pretend that you arent even there. Quite boring.

Also, last I heard, David Yu had a bit of a falling out with Evo recently.

Not that Jeremy Clarkson's _OPINION_ is necessarily any better than anyone elses... Just out of curiosity... what was JC's top 10 list?

Nuff said????????
Since when has anyone given a poo about which cars Clarky reckons are the best??
Remind me again how Cossies fare against similarly, or even considerably under-powered Scoobs?????

Cem,

David posted a question on their forum site along the lines of "Do you like my monthly updates in the mag ~ 'cos I'm not sure I'll bother in future." Apparently all he asked in return for this regular input was to join them at any tests involving Skylines, and (after selling "Godzilla" 355/360 fezzas.

Mr Yu then went on to quote that he has had to date exactly no such offers, despite complaining to HM/JB/RM on two previous occaisions (test of an R34 Skyline and a 360 spider).

I just had time to post "I like yer stuff" when the thread dissapeared......I think they have kissed and made up since.....

The Cossie is one of the greatest cars of all time unlike the Scoob
It will always be remembered as one of the best cars in the WORLD! ....Again unlike the scoob.
As Clarkson would say "If these cars were cutlery...the Scooby would be of the plastic disposable type where as the Escort Cosworth would be of the stainless steel type"
Remind me.....What is the average price of a 1992 Escort Cos (Nice Big Turbo)compared to that of a 1992 mere Scoob
As Usual Nuff Said!
Uncle Biff!
P.S. Bet you would be singing from a different hymm sheet if Clarkson praised the Scoob!

You're saying the Escort Cossie is one of the greatest cars of all time. In which field? It was poo at the top level of rallying, espcecially when the Scoob arrived!
The difference is that the Scoob is still around eight years after it was introduced. It's not going to be remembered as one of the worlds greatest cars while it's still in production is it?
At the end of the day, the Scoob is superior to the Escort in EVERY discipline as standard. Yes, the Cossie's more tuneable, but it's how the car leaves the factory that should be remembered, not what other tuners can do to it. As an out-of-the-box package, the Scoob is pretty much unbeatable.
Escort Cossies do hold their value well because there aren't that many left. As soon as the Focus Cossie comes out though( if it ever does), I'm sure they won't be worth quite as much.
Open your eyes Biffo, accept it. The old Cossie has had it's day.

We all know DEEP DOWN that the Cossie is a much better car than the Scoob.
Why do you call yourself "The Cossie Killer"?
You can only kill certain Cossies because you are a very experienced driver on the track!
If you had a Cossie you probably would call yourself the Scooby Killer LOL
I was at Donno and I saw you trying to keep up with a certain Cossie and you simply couldn`t.
OK the Cossie had 500+bhp but it was 2WD LOL.
You know the Cossie still holds its crown and this is why you call yourself by that name.......The Cossie is the benchmark and soooooo many people try to beat them as they are a status symbol.
Did the 3rd bearing leave the factory ok
Now pass over that plastic fork LOL

P.S. Don`t get tooooo upset I`m only playing!

I know you're only playing, but I haven't had any Cossie banter for yonks!
You keep saying the Escort Cossie is a much better car than the Scoob, but you fail to say how. In what area does the Cossie surpass the Scoob, tuning aside.
I didn't call myself the Cossie Killer, it was a name given to me. I got it becasue at several track events and at Spod, there were Cossie owners blabbing on about how much power their car had, only to be passed or beaten by my near standard Scoob. I don't only pass them becasue I am more experienced, because in many cases that isn't true as I've only been going on track for two years myself. The Scoob is just a better all-round car, plain and simple.
I'm not supposed to be able to 'keep up' with a 500bhp Cossie either am I??? The fact that a Scoob can hold it's own against a car with twice the power is remarkable enough as it is!!! Cossies were the king of their day, but that day is now consigned to the history books. Yes, they'll always be very tuneable cars capable of big power, but they need it!!
It has been proven that a Cossie needs around 100bhp more than a Scoob to match it performance wise. If you think that makes the Cossie King, then the Scoob is God.

Amen.

Stef.
