Default Refitting tmic

Okay, so I just spent ages refitting my TMIC because the feckn turbo to IC pipe keeps getting pinched at the bottom, rather than sliding back over the turbo outlet. I only managed to refit it after loosening off the IC mounting brackets so I could get the IC lower.

I can't go through that again because I've run out of swear words. What's the trick?

Don't know but I'm subscribing too find out. Had my intercooler off to fit gauges and a new intercooler to throttle body pipe and it took me ages and lots of swearing to get it back on. Had the same problem

Use the jubilee clamp loosely tightened to "reinforce" the hose as you push it onto Turbo outlet to stop it bending. Once hose is located just over the turbo outlet lip, undo clamp and push fully home then retighten. Red OE STi hose has a piece of metal woven into it to help lever it into place, not sure what other hoses come with that

Wipe some oil around outside edge of turbo and inside silicone coupler to help it slide on

That's a good idea. I'll try that. What I can't work out is how that metal fitting is supposed to help. I can reach the top of the pipe with my fingers and push it down, but that's about it. If I could get my whole hand down there the job would be easy!!
