Removing and refitting front seats in a MY98
#2
Tony,
It a fairly easy job (I've done it to mine - an MY98 - and a friend's MY94).
The seats are fixed to the floor pan by 4 bolts - 2 at the front, 2 at the rear. Slide the seat back to access the front bolts, slide it forwards to access the rear bolts (these ones have a plastic cover over them).
One word of caution - when refitting the front bolts make sure you don't cross thread them (I did on one - and it's a real pain to tap new threads!!!).

Tony,
Took mine out to fit 2 amps under passenger seat and CD changer under driver seat.
It's very easy - only takes about 5 mins each side. 2 bolts at front and 2 at rear
Watch plastic clips though - See:

Hi Phil,
Can't wait to see the spoiler!
Yep, the P1 seats I'm looking at are at Grade A, still not sure though, depends on whether I sell my standard ones. Do Grade A have any other Subaru bits ? A mate is looking for a bonnet and a few other odds and sods.
Did you part-ex them for leather ?
I've managed to secure a set of P1 wheels though - will get them when the current owner gets his 18"s.

Yes, andy took the seats in part-ex for the leather, ive got front and rear seats and doorcards and i'm very pleased.
The P1's were nice, and i do miss them, although i do agree they would be more suited in a reddish or sonic blue car.
As for 2nd hand panels are likely to be bent! the cars were write off's.
The spoiler should be collected tommorow and fitted tommorow afternoon with a bit of luck. It has been two-pack primed for a perfect base to put the metallic on, so it should look almost factory qaulity.

Just a word about the plastic clip/covers. If you're upgrading from MY96 or earlier -then make sure you get hold of the new clip/covers because the old ones won't fit over the new runners.
Just a small point, but all adds to the finish,
Good luck all,
Andy

Hi
I have just a seen your thread on the seats. I am looking for a replacement interior for my MY96 car. I am curious, who are Grade A and does anyone have their phone number.

Went down to Grade A today, and picked up the P1 seats!!!!!
The place is quite difficult to find, but well worth it. They guy there was really helpful, pretty much replacing the seats for me. There's quite a few Scoobs there, in various states, but probably quite a few useful parts. As the only Subaru breakers I know of in the region, they're worth a call if you looking for second-hand parts.

Thanks Tony for the info on Grade A. They are close to me so I plan to go down there soon as I am looking for seats and steering wheel for MY96. I will have to wait though cos Andy is on holiday.
Could I ask you what you paid for your seats?
Hope to see your new interior if you are at the forthcoming Northern Meet
