Default Subaru Dsl Forrester Crankshaft Broken

2009 Subaru forrester. 101k, full history.
Please can someone give me a step by step on how to get this common issue sorted at minimum cost, clearly a design fault by the maker, my belief is that liability exists, as so many claims demonstrate.

Yes the Subaru diesel is know for breaking engines.

At 101,000 miles I suggest that any failure is at the owners risk and you have virtually no chance to have a successful claim on such a high mileage vehicle.

A trader local to me who sells secondhand Subaru's, warns prospective buyers of the diesel Subaru cars that they will not warranty any Subaru diesel engine.

He further suggests that anyone who has an engine failure just accepts that it is not worth replacing with another Subaru diesel engine as it will happen again.

engine highly likley to be scrap inc block, so will need a whole new engine. cost wise id take a punt at 7-8k if you can find a decent one by the time its int he car and running given they are very rare second hand
