A lad I know took his car down there in March, he then heard nothing and it took him over a week to track the car down as it was reported that it was no longer at API. Ended up being at TDR Warwick. He got it back but still has no idea what actually happened to it over 3 months.

I'd be taking the day off work and paying a visit, and if the company is there and all is good, inform them that are unreachable which is unacceptable and that you will be billing them for the loss of earnings! If things are not as you would expect..... take action!

A friend of mine took their race car there..... had it over two years and there are shocking things wrong with it when they got it back.. still not complete. I cannot say more as there are legal things happening but in that time there was very little communication and lies when there was...

Poor communication is not really on, especially when you're spending thousands of pounds with a company... if they're not going to be around or have some sort of problems, it only takes 5 mins to write an email and 'CC' all the relevant people.

Its a shame API and David are no longer the same team, i used them about 5 yrs agao and David was helpful, knowledgeable and priced his work fair (granted the other guys did most the hands on stuff )
I think the name API is just that, a name, no longer the place it once was ,literally lol

Hi All
This thread is over 10 months old now. I tried ringing Simon's direct line yesterday and got what appears to be a fax machine. Does anyone know if they are still trading?
They modified my car for its previous owner 7 yrs ago, and when I needed valves replacing I had them rebuild it with Inconel valves about 2 yrs ago
Its funny, some previous posters said about poor communication and lies and stuff.... makes me chuckle because I completely bought the stories I was being told when a 1 week quote became a 5 week job:
The guy unloading cars off the trailer cut his hand off in the spokes of a wheel
No one in the UK has Inconel valves and they take 3 weeks from USA
Their head mechanic is unwell / then left the business
Then the courier driver had a heart attack
Wow, I really believed all that stuff and felt bad about constantly chasing them every day for 5 weeks.
I have no idea where to send my car now, local garages won't touch it as it is heavily modified, and Subaru themselves won't touch it either.
Does anyone know if there is an experienced Subaru Specialist near Hampshire, that they could recommend?
Thanks
