Angry crack td05

i bought a good condition only bolt snap housing (on this forum).. i install it monday and there was a big leak so i check all bolt but nothing i take the turbo out and saw this: old rusted crack ... think i've been scammed, isn't it?
best is to change the exhaust side, try to weld or throw it in the bin?

I'm a little bit confused by those pictures - is the crack on the flange towards the down pipe?

Wastegate cracks less of an issue. CHRA cracks = junk.

You could try welding it but I'd just look for a replacement housing instead.
Actually, I'd want my money back and buy another one.

Caveat emptor....

Try getting it welded but TD05's are plentiful and cheap. I'd just look to get another one, either complete or just the exhaust housing. Would give you a opportunity to rebuild it also, for piece of mind.

Caveat emptor.. (here in france law is different, if there's hidden problem, it's the seller's fault)
i must be in a dreamland but in forums we share the same passion for cars with helpful advise ect not a place to scam.
i don't see the turbo before.. he sent to me and honeslty even if a came to take it, i don't know if i would see the crack (was under the vband)

As you only paid £80 it's not a fortune so not too costly a lesson learnt, ask for more detailed pics in the future.
When buying from a forum only buy from trusted members(not saying the seller isn't,I don't know him)
However if you paid via PayPal then you should be able to claim the money back?
It was described as having some damage but to me that turbo looks like scrap, maybe some parts usable for a rebuild?

Most forum members are honest but unfortunately there are a few who aren't,if it was me I would be refunding and letting you keep/bin the scrap metal you bought.
That's of no help to you tho I know.
Hope you get it sorted.
I know it's a long shot but have a look on eBay or other selling sites, maybe there's a suitable turbo close to you or close to the event you're going to on Monday?
Could even be a breakers near by?
