Default Downpipe fitment

Hi Guys.Does anyone know of a thread that offers any advice & tips for fitting a decat downpipe? I know it should be relatively simple but any pointers would be handy.(Especially when it comes to removing bolts off the turbo).btw the downpipe I have bought is from a well known manufacturers & the quality of the welding is pretty crap to say the least but that's another story.More on this over the next week or two.
Ta vm 😊

Honestly, it's pretty simple. Gotta take IC and turbo heatshield off to get good access. Try not to snap the wee heatshield bolts, they break easily. Good spray of wd-40 or whatever on downpipe bolts, you'll probably need to remove centre pipe to get the downpipe out. Just remember when you're breaking off the downpipe bolts to do it with constant force, no hammer on a spanner or anything like that, or you'll likely snap the studs instead.

Oh yeah, and remove the lambda sensor from exhaust before you start. :P

Thanks for that Kaeo. It's the bolts on the tbo that I am most worried about removing. Is it recommended to replace these would you think?

Always best to be prepared, buy a set of these

Obviously new gaskets both ends of dp, genuine Subaru are best.
If you can, try and spray the bolts up a few days prior to removal as often as you can, Plus gas is excellent penatrating fluid or wd40.
As mentioned, if the pipe has never been removed in its lifetime, then you will need to get some heat on them.

Ive always found i snap studs with constant force and not when using shock/intermittent instead.

Yes get new studs and down pipe gasket, original is always best.

Import Car Parts do a complete kit of everything you need, not the cheapest but all genuine parts.

Are you putting heat wrap on the downpipe before fitting?

Should be the same, turbo gasket is only different if you have a twin scroll setup.
