Default Tyre Thread Repair

Hello Guys,

Bit of a delicate question here: Been running quite aggressive camber (fully track set but then used on road). That translated excessive wear on the inner tyre while the centre and outer threads are like 4.5-5mm deep still.

Obviously they are shot, but I`d like to get 1 more track day out of them with this in mind : Get that corner repaired somehow, what company? Then I use tyre on oposite wheel, so this corner is in "air".

Anyone ever done this before? Do you know any company that can do? I know they can do full re-thread but I don`t want that as these are pilot super sports and centre and even sides are still good. Strictly a 10x10mm corner is gone. Pic attached.

so you wanna try to get £10 more out of a tyre that if it fails under load will prob destroy the car in the resulting crash?

they wont fail under load. Bit of tyre missing only.

And since they were my best tyres yet [and damn expensive] I would like to use them for 1 more sprint day.

[at the moment i`m considering mat black spray lol] so help is much needed

Are you honestly taking the p1ss?

Also, are your tyres threaded onto the rims? Mine have a great system where the tyres are held on by simple air inflation. No threads required. Very clever.

Tyre TREADS. Not threads I'll think you find.

How can you actually afford to do track days if you can't even afford tyres?

I would nt trust them under normal driving never mind a track day where the tyre is super stressed!!
Also they tyre would have worn a certain way from new I'dfeatures you swap them round it will have negative affect on the handling.

I bet if you took some thing sharp and poked it through that point you wouldn't even think of going out on them that will be so thin now anything could perforate it and I don't think the Marshalls would be too happy if they noticed it.
Super sports are also asymmetrical so should not really be turned
We have hundreds of truck are car tyres remoulded and there's no chance we would even use them for remoulding.

'They won't fail under load'? Are you having a larf pal. When else will they fail? Sitting stationary in your garage? Get real.
People like you shouldn't be allowed on track. It's not just yourself you are putting at risk by using damaged rubber like this, it's everyone else on track with you.
Wake up and get some proper rubber. No matter how expensive these were you have had the life out of them.
