Trolley jack
I'm on the look out for a low entry trolley jack that will do the trick with my hatch.
The jack that I do have is a low level one but it's far too small, it doesn't reach far enough in and even when trying to use the jacking point at the sill it starts to foul the side skirt before lifting.......
Can anyone recommend a low level jack that will do the trick, there seems to be a few on the Halfords website that look like they'll do the trick but I'd prefer to know for sure.
Cheers

I picked up a Clarke CTJ2250LP from Tool-Net a couple of weeks back for £53.57 delivered.
80mm minimum saddle height - fits comfortably underneath my Lotus, so should be okay for a Scoob I'd imagine. Comes with rubber jack pad, 17mm and 19mm sockets and a handle that doubles as a wheel brace.

I'm thinking it's a toss up between these 2.

I've got this monster from SGS engineering, 3 ton limit, low entry, high lift, it feels indestructible, weighs about 50kg!

Min saddle height is a little higher than the Clarke one, I like their axle stands though.
If you're a member, Costco normally have a jack in stock. The brand varies from time to time.
Looks like this one is currently in stock:

I've got a Clarke and an sgs jack. None are low level. I did have a low level ally jack and it was pish! I've made ramps to drive on to jack the car up. The sgs stuff is far better quality for the price. I have their axle stands too

When you say none are low level, do you mean the one you bought wasn't a low level one? The 2.5 that sgs do is 75mm min height, that's pretty low.
Aye mate I didn't buy a specific low level jack because the one I bought before was crap! I bought a normal jack and made a ramp to drive on before jacking
Have you measured the ground clearance of your skirts?
SGS do one with a minimum saddle height of 75mm which is quite low, but what appeals to me the most with these trolley jacks is the size of them and the reach.
I have a Halfords trolley jack at the moment which does clear my skirts but the reach is terrible and the design of it makes it pretty much useless. The arm starts to foul the skirt.
I've emailed sgs about them and they told me the clearance is 7cm with that one. I'm gonna measure the distance this weekend on me car. May consider buying a couple of drive on ramps to help me out a little bit. I've got a jack, but like you it doesn't reach far enough for me mate.
how low is your hatch Matty?
Std side skirts? Mine has what seems to be an extra lip to the side skirts so they're slightly lower than std.
Mine is sitting -30mm on coilovers, I'll go and have a look and measure up.

The clearance between side skirt and ground is roughly 120-130mm so with any of the low entry SGS trolley jacks I'd be laughing, the highest low entry one they have at minimum height is at or just under 100mm.
The centre of the front bumper my car is sitting roughly 100-110mm above the ground, so for me if I bought the SGS 2.5t low entry trolley jack then that would do the trick.
But it's how far they reach that seals the deal......delivery is rather expensive though but I can understand considering the weight.
I'll probably place an order over the weekend, I'll be purchasing the axle stands as well, I have 2 ratchet style axle stands but I like the idea of having them with safety pins plus another 2 won't go amiss.
Yeah that's the one, if I order it over the weekend it should be here by the end of next week. It did state 3 day delivery, delivery cost was £35 but I live about a billion miles away in the sticks.
I'll get pics up when it does arrive.
I've got a few jobs to do which I'm wanting to do by the end of the month, replace the well and truly ****ed arch liners with the replacements that I have. Sort this leaking windscreen washer bottle and either try CL RC5+ pads to solve the braking issue or fit new pads and discs.
So I'm kinda needing to jack the car up

I got this set a couple of years ago for lifting the P1, works well for me

Standard height mate, sits under the rear diff nicely and gets enough height to get the axle stands under, I tend to put it under the suspension mount at the front rather than on the jacking points.
