Default Anyone know this car? Spec C Type RA

Browsing ebay, stumbled across this.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/subaru-imp...EAAOSw3v5YtfSH

Been holding out for white but quite like the supporting mods on this.

Too many modifications from the standard RA for my taste, it is just another modified Impreza even though it has some nice modifications.

You may as well look at modified JDM STi models as to me the uniqueness of the car has been ruined.

To be honest, that was my first thought. I'm quite keen to keep whatever I get completely standard.

Just wooed by posh looking brakes

Really, yes. I've never really been "that" keen on the blob eye front end. I'd be more likely to go older and get a JDM "Prodrive Style" Bugeye STI.

Scoobyclinic had a nice white Bug RA with low miles all original, someone posted a link on that thread we were both on a few weeks back.

£10k cheaper too.

You might get the odd hawk come up for sale on a normal spec c.

The most recent Spec C type RA in white I saw for sale was by torque GT a few months ago and that is now sold.

Also I thought the TYPE RA comes with the "Keep attacking the Nurburgring" Decals on the door??

I had a look around it 2 weeks ago when I was there and it's spotless.

The usual incorrect bollocks in the advert and not very well constructed either

A Hawk Spec C is substantially different to a Bug one...most people would be looking for one or the other, not considering both?

Agreed on mods - a true Spec C RA should be kept standard. Not sure this one's actually an RA (should have black console trim not the standard grey).

Agreed, but OP has said in other posts as well as this one that he's interested in all sorts... just wants something a little special that will hold it's money and possibly increase.

I'd opt for the bug... mostly because I'm a cheap skate.. but also 20 odd grand in a Subaru is a bit rich for my tastes... even more so when all things considered... there's not £10k worth of 'better car' in a Hawk... IMO of course.

congrats Rossboy on that purchase.
That looked like it was a really nice Spec C Type RA in white.

I know its been asked so many times before but are the normal Hawk Spec C or the Hawk Spec C RA actually 320bhp in Standard like the s203 and s204?

Edd asked for it to go on the rollers before agreeing to buy it. Print out is 290 bhp and should see 320-330 with just the re-map I believe.

so I guess they're pretty close to the stated 280 ps

I'm glad you're happy with it mate. I may well live to regret it and unlikely to get another for similar money.

I do think long-term limited edition bugs will probably out pace other version in terms of valuation.

However, I'm quite keen on sticking with a Hawk. If an RA ends up being out of my budget, I'll be happy with a Spec C.

Why would you fit a turbo modified and designed to run at 450bhp and then map the car for only 360bhp? Must be laggy as hell to drive. Seems odd to me. Either make the most of the turbo you've fitted or fit a smaller turbo again. Odd.

Seems like too much money IMO too.

Needs the exchange rate to improve before they'll be sensible prices again. I did look at some at dealers in Japan, but they'd be £20k plus on the road here.

Up for over £20k and it doesn't even have the original rear badge fitted, nor door stickers.

The advert mentions how it's a twin scroll as JDM- however converted it to single scroll

Seems I was a bit out with my estimations of a re-map. Still fully catted up and no other mods saw 353/364 on Andy's software.

Well chuffed with that

Yeah, but peaking at 1.6 bar and Andy reckoned the JDM cats are far less restrictive. He showed me a comparison to another de-catted Spec C and there wasn't a huge difference between them power-wise.

I am 99% sure this is my old car that I purchased new from Immy(juggers). I only had it for a short while and changed it for a white one. If so it is definitely not a TYPE RA

There's this car
It may be a tad on the pricey side but I know the previous two owners and I know the current owner has spent a fair bit on it. The stickers and modifications on the car will give it away as to who used to on the car

if you click on the +19 at the bottom it will take you to the post

ok cant get link to work so will copy paste the ad

£22k does seem overpriced. Maybe £16/17k
