Default Exhaust centre section question

Evening all I currently have a full decat japspeed 3" exhaust that has a resonated centre section the question I have is, does a resonated centre section restrict power figures or no? I'm having my car mapped again in a few weeks and I'm going for the magic 500bhp and was wondering should I change the centre section for a de-resonated one or is it not worth it and if so will any de-resonated centre section fit my current exhaust downpipe and back box or would I need a full new system.
