Finally got the ball rolling on my SpecD rebuild
Block conversion to closed deck with 14mm threads
Bored, honed and skimmed
Mahle 4032 pistons
ACL race bearings
Williams H beam rods ARP bolts
11mm oil pump
14/12mm RCM headstud conversion
RCM head gaskets
Can't wait to finally get the old girl back on the road

Sweet!
Similar build to my Spec D, but my deck is still only semi closed, not pinned either.
You may well find a bit of piston slap when cold, but that soon goes once warmed up.
Enjoy the Spec D stealth factor all the more!
It's a WRX mate....honest

yeah i'll 2nd the piston slap on cold but they are build to expand so its more prevalent anyway, but yes, def slaps when cold. i've grown to like that sound oddly....i'm just weird though

That's part of the reason I chose the Mahle 4032 instead of the 2618's. As you can have a tighter bore clearance less expansion = less slap
Plans for the future would be around 400bhp
