Default dilemma/ advice

iv got a v4 sti type r
it's booked in to the body shop next week

it's currently got a face lift front and rear spoiler
but don't know if i should put it back to standard
i really love the facelift look though
and not keen on the standard v4 looks as it's mix match of pre/face lift

my thoughts was to get it all done as it is , and buy the standard bits get them painted and store them until i sell and give them to the new owner
so he has both

or do i just get the standard bits on now and sell the face lift bits

please no snotty sn remarks, just nice helpful comments ( for a change , it is xmas after all)

I personally think the full facelift of a v5/6 is the best looking classic front end, as u said the v3/4 is a mixture of the early and the old, But... been a type R I would personally have the sub looking as from factory, that would be my choice anyway.

I looked at a couple of Type R's before I bought my blob and saw 2 version 4's.

1 had a preface dash but facelift front, the other was the opposite but had a facelift bonnet.

Personally I too think the facelift front is a more modern look but the preface does suit the limited edition 53c cars.

That's a version 3 type R Stuart means that his has a version 5 or 6 front bumper and rear spoiler.

Personally I'd put it back to how it should be, it's not like you'll have it long enough to worry

When it comes to selling the car on and getting as much as possible you have to decide if its worth doing things your way. Its that whole modified and original argument.

Its your car so do it

My preference is facelift

Have a think about what front end you want to see each morning when you go to start it up

If you plan to sell the car soon put it back to standard. You could keep hold of the later parts and include them in the sale or sell separately.

If you plan to keep it yourself do what you prefer.

+1 for the original. A lot of people think the worst when it's been changed
