Less than expected BHP
Recently had a remap on a blobeye Impreza. Has a couple of mods.
Fully de cated (2.5" I believe)
Miltek exhaust
Sti TMIC
NGK PFR6B spark plugs
Lightened pulleys
Walbro 255 fuel pump
Ramair foam air filter
Remap was done on a rolling road and only made 272bhp.
Always run on Tesco 99 Ron.
From the tuning guide I've read I should have expected around 280-290 bhp.
Any ideas why the short fall in power?
Cheers

Need a bit more information than that to potentially identify where the short fall is (if any)
Graphs would help, plus a bit more about the car. (Mileage etc)

Why worry if it feels quick enough leave it alone if not carry on tuning rolling road is good to make sure every thing is working as it should don't get caught up in worrying about numbers no two cars or rolling roads ever give the same figures.

What he has done is read somewhere on the t'interweb that you will get 280-290bhp, the fact is that the turbo will on average only give you 270-280bhp (and the top end if you are lucky), its bang on the power.

I had td04 mapped by thwaites in warwick we got 287 bhp so your figure is bang on the money. I moved away not long after to vf34 blower plus alcatek ecu plus fpr plus rcm fuel pump plus 3 port boost solenoid mapped by mr b rawle now at 350 /340 , at its limit with gearbox so im done as is my wallet ! if it pulls nice in 1 st and 2nd id say be happy. figure chasing and such can be expensive , always remember bigger turbo more delay in spool up. vf series are good units and 34 has roller bearing , so quite strong under pressure.

Either they had very optimistic rollers or you had a hybrid as 287bhp would be far too much hot air through a td04l and you would suffer boost creep to boot (hybrids are good for around 300bhp).

Cheers for the info chaps...I was more worried about engine health that was all but if those figures are bang on then I won't worry.
Car does feel really good now and pulls alot better than the PPP map which was only 243 bhp in the end.
I'll dig out the graph and get a pic of it put up to see what people think.
Have thought about better injectors and bigger turbo but I'm thinking gearbox.
Cheers.

Your torque goes up and down a little, interested to see what your boost is doing / what your boost level is at peak power rpm. Do you have that as a print out?

The BHP figures look OK and relate to my previous experiences with UK Newage 2.0l cars but the torque is quite late on the graph.
David Hendry in Malmesbury may have been closer for you than Indigo. Do they use Open Source mapping?
