Think that car has been on here before when it was for sale last time. As said, there is a LOT wrong with that!

It's a WRX bootlid too and someone stuck the STI badges on all wonky. Love it!

Should someone maybe ask him a few questions????

Full WRX interior too, no STI gear surround, no STI steering wheel. No DCCD.

I said:

Is this car really a Spec D STI? I'm a Subaru enthusiast and have owned these before.

A Subaru STI Spec D WILL have as standard:
STI red stitched steering wheel with STI logo airbag
STI red stitched gear and handbrake leathers
STI gear shifter & ****
STI aluminium gear surround
STI sweeping clocks
STI 6 speed gearbox
STI brembo brakes at front
STI brembo brakes at rear
STI intercooler
STI under tray
STI logo in grill

Also, the STI spec D seats didn't have a red stitched logo in them.

This car is VERY definitely a WRX model with STI badges ONLY. Sorry to burst your bubble. I would suggest you re-word your advert accordingly before the Police come around to confiscate the vehicle. This should only be sold as a WRX.

Thank you.

I'm positive it's a WRX SL model with STI badges. It's most certainly a ringer. By the time you've taken all those STI bits off the car to sell you'll be left with nothing worth putting back on the road.

My guess is this started life as a spec D because it has that stupid smart nav thingy on the dash that spec D's came with.
But has clearly Been stripped at some point!

Looking at the guys eBay history he certainly sells a lot of cars but also breaks a lot of cars himself.

It's possible he's stripped an STI, but he'd have to have a full WRX for all the bits to put back on it. It just wouldn't be worth it to do, time and money wise. Unless a lot of the parts were somehow free!

Lol.

He stopped replying to my messages yesterday.

So I just sent him another letting him know his rear seat doesn't actually fold.

He seems to have updated his advert somewhat since yesterday, but still hasn't listed all the parts removed.

I'm starting to agree that this may be a stripped/rebuilt car. Not much left worth having though.

Hilarious, The "D" was for discreet yet it has had STI logo's put everywhere ??

Not to hard to find on Google what you should be getting...
http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-review/...wrx-sti-spec-d

Can clearly see the gold Brembo's in the picture

Amazes me how these sellers think no one will notice

There was a guy trying to sell a Blob WRX as a Spec D on a Facebook group lastnight for £8k. It was black and covered in green stickers and apparently making 2bar...You got to love them...

lol. Amazing!

What angers me is that someone without knowledge will be buying a completely worthless shed, possibly a ringer too.

I've reported the advert to ebay twice now and it's still live.

Still even with a little bit of research on whatever you are buying before you commit to the purchase gives you the heads up that it's the real deal

Must be complete bellends to go into it without knowing even the basics

I guess some folk out there deserve to have their pants pulled down for being so clueless

You wouldn't go to the effort of changing all the hubs to 114 if it was a wrx. Whole lot easier to swap out box, brakes etc.

That's the funny thing, you can clearly see from the pictures it's now on red WRX brakes all round which means it can't be on 114.3 hubs any more.

If someone has used the STI shell (which I doubt) then they have swapped over a LOT of bits.
