Looking for a new import WRX and some of the larger import dealers are specifying that their cars are 2003 versions not 2002.
Is there anything significant in this - any changes of note? Or will it just be a 52 number plate rather than 02.
Also, anyone out there ever driven a Golf 4Motion and a current WRX. I've got the Golf at the moment - boring as hell to drive (should have gone for the Scooby then). Just wondered what performance change I would see between the two (I can't quite afford to go to the STi UK - damn) and wondered if I need the PPP straight away.

If you can get your mits on an 03 model, you will be mobbed for photos etc for months, this car is not due for launch until September!!
02 models lost the roof aerial and had several minor engineering changes ... according to Graham @ TSL.
What the 03 looks like is covered in many a thread on here, perhaps you could start a new rumour.

To expand on what Baby Blue said, the apart from the internal radio arial, the only other changes were things like new washers/bolts maybe and the like.. the gearing is the same as the '01... the only significant change was the arial!
As for the '03.. alledgedly redesigned front end, new headlight shape etc...

Sorry guys my fault yes we are talking about the 01/02 differences. Yes in South Africa the gearing is different.
The 03 must be the best kept, rumour stricken release in a long time

I'm not sure now - jamjar imports and virgin imports are both advertising MY03 but not sure if they mean it or not (they seem to be 500 quid cheaper than MY02 as well!). No pics so I guess they are actually refering to the current model.
I'm desparate to see pics of the new model - don't know whether to wait for it or not. I actually quite like the look of the current car

I would have thought that Subaru must be tooling up for MY03 production now, so if there were any differences to the design of the car we would have seen spy shots by now - or they would have launched some 'official' photos etc.
But then all us FUGLY owners live in permanent fear of a re-design....

I've got quite attached to my fugly (and even more
since the PPP). The aerial is not the largest difference -
in the South African (if there is such a thing) 02 model, there
is no aerial, a single disk in dash CD, instead of the 6-disk
changer I have in my 01 and quite importantly, the 02 is 20kgs
lighter than the 01. Personally, I'd like to know where the 20kgs
went. max 5 an the degraded sound system... and then 15 more
from who knows where ?
