Default Do i fix or not?

Ive got a v5 type r with a decent spec briefly comprising of 2.1 cdb, 6 speed dccd box,18g, ap fronts, ksport rears,
Alcatek + toucan.
Now the clutch and possibly the flywheel need to be replaced but im contemplating selling up.
Would i be better off fixing it first or would the cost of repair outweigh the extra I'd get for it running?

Defo fix and sell, decent clutch and flywheel going to be about 4-500 fitted most people will try knocking double that off under the guise there could be other issues....

What's it worth fixed? 8-9k
What's it worth split? Probably a bit more?
500-600£ for a clutch fitted or 200£ to do it yourself.

Be a shame to split as it sounds like a nice car. BUT...
If you do decide to split then I might be interested in the engine

I did think about splitting it and did a rough estimation of the value of parts which comes to 10k plus but it is alot of hassle.

Banny, what clutch and flywheel would you recommend at that price?
I've been thinking it would be more around the 1k mark but 4-500 is definitely worth doing.
I'm running 380/380 at the moment but obviously there is potential to go more with bigger turbo so would need to hold decent torque.

Ossett2k2 it maybe a possibility that it does split and if it does the engine would need to go first.
I've sent you a pm.

Definitely fix it, then it's a £9/10k car. Only problem with selling in bits is the high value items go first, so you'll see £6k quite quickly but then you'll be left for months trying to get the other £4/5k out of it with it sat on your drive or in your garage.

deffo fix it mate at least then if you want to keep it you can but if not, at least you have that option of fetching a few quid on a whole, be a shame to see another one broken though.

I'd be interested to know how you get to 10k, I've tried pricing up cars for breaking and not really found where the money is, of course if you've spent a lot of pounds on the engine that would help.

But 100% fix and sell. As 1 your supporting UK Businesses garage etc, and 2 keeping another Scooby alive. Only way i'd spilt it is if engine had gone or shell was rotten. And as you said loads of hassle, working in freezing cold unless you have a garage, then loads of parts just sitting around for months on end till they sell.

You might have added that up wrong @martak?
323£ for clutch+158£ for fw
Plus the op had a 6 speed so more expensive.

I think asperformance have som good deals on clutches.

Also agree it would be a shame to break the car

I have spoke to Alyn and am contemplating act.
Im still running 5 speed clutch + flywheel so if my flywheel is ok i could have it skimmed and just get another 5 speed clutch as they have a good torque rating or its a 6 speed clutch and flywheel which is where you get to around the 1k mark.

It would be a shame to break that for the sake of a new clutch. It looks like a superb car.

Wow 1k for brakes whats on it?

Turbo £500 depending on what it is?

Might be better to remove turbo if uprated, remove ecu, and fit standard parts instead? As can't see adding that much value to the car.

Put get it fixed for sure.
