Default Can you physically tell if a car has been mapped?

Hey all,

Can you physically tell if a car has been mapped. I don't really know how these cars are meant to feel so was wondering if there is a physical giveaway?

Can I look at the Ecu and tell? Actually where is the Ecu on these?

Thanks!!

Sorry - that's a good point!

It's a hawkeye. Owner bought it and doesn't know if it's been mapped. All it has is a receipt for a tuning deposit but no actual receipt for the map.

I was hoping there was a way I could physically tell. I have no idea by driving it.

Have a look at the ECU and pop a picture up.

Under the passengers footwell , pull back the carpet and you will see the box it's in ,,, hook up a boost gauge as that will also let you know as if it's mapped it's prob running over standard boost

Can you see an electronic programme through the outer casing of an ECU?

They could ring said tuner and ask, many have records and can tell you from the Reg .
