Default Please help needed

I have just brought a impreza turbo 2000 after close inspection I discovered it had diferent engine number than the log book how can I tell if the engine is a UK or a jap thanks

Check the Plate in the engine bay on the top passenger side suspension strut.

All the detail will be there.

The vin plate will only show what the car left the factory with, not what it has now.

What are the engine numbers that you have?

not surprising these old cars have a different engine...

Exactly. It will show what it should have

The OP said it's a UK2000 so he knows what it should have, he's asking if there's any way to determine what engine it has fitted now as he thinks it's been changed

The engine is stamped with 202988 2032 logbook says 787006
