I was talking to a guy yesterday about building hot-rods. I have a 1966 beach buggy and when he mentioned that he'd dropped a 911 engine into a beetle the conversation became interesting. He then went on to say that he'd also put several Subaru engines into beetles and campers etc. When I told him that was all fine and dandy but I didn't want to put a water cooling system in the beach buggy he said "you don't need radiators due to it being a boxer engine, all you need is an intercooler mounted where the back seat should go"! Well, have I been doing things wrong all these years. I left then before he started on about his square wheel conversion.
