Sti spec c 04 reg JDM
Hi guys, I am new to forum and I am looking for advise, I am looking for a sti spec c jdm, around the 04 reg, it's for road use and track days, I know what you get and don't get with the spec c, looking to remap it and fit coilovers anti roll bars, sort the brakes and get a decent set of tyres, what power will be safe and what will I need to run say 350/370hp, recommendations on coilovers and a front mount intercooler would be good aswell, I have a evo 8 mr at the minute, I've never had a Subaru so this is new to me, any help would much appreciated. Thanks

The JDM engines are considerably stronger than the UK versions. 350/370 is well within the capabilities of a JDM lump. Uprated fuel pump, Full exhaust system, decent panel filter and a remap will see you at not far off those figures.

Right, you really need to do your research on these cars, not just about the car itself but also where to buy from.
The car you saw on ebay was a motorsport edition, avoid those, they were meant to be stripped and made into rally cars, they lack several decent features that the 17 inch versions have (the motorsport cars are sometimes referred to as 16 inch due to the steel wheels that they came with).
There is also a place in Birmingham selling (an 04), well its actually an 03 but hey, how do I know this? I was the first owner and really wouldnt go back to that one, its had its arches rolled badly and everything about the mods sucks (BC's on it to start with), so as you see, its a mine field.
Avoid motorhub in Bradford, they usually sell tat, for a better name of it, also some places up in Manchester that have recently (over the last couple of years) also sell cars that are not exactly good quality.
Then the names, STI Spec C RA, oh god, how many cars get called this but are not? Lots, you look for a limited edition Spec C RA and get fobbed off with a standard 17 inch spec c, great.
So that doesnt leave you much to go on, well no, what you need to look for is a good owner who cherishes their car, you want it as standard as possible, that way you can see if its been looked after, chavvy body kits etc, doesnt suit the Spec C style, there are 2 I would look at, one is a blue 06 Hawk (pistonheads) and the other a VX53 plate white one (ebay), then if you dont like those you can look at Hurst Cars down in Bedford, Max will treat you right and could even source you a car if you needed it.

I've a pal selling a 2006 Hawkeye spec c, 60k miles been mapped by Bob Rawle and geometry done by Simon at Chevron Motorsport. Lots of whiteline goodies etc and he wants £13500.

Go for a MY04/05 Widetrack rather than a none widetrack spec

Thanks for all your help guys, when I see one I'll post up on here to see what you guys think before I buy it, time is not a issue with me, it took me 3 years to find the right GTR in red right spec lol, I am very picky and it has to be right and a nice clean one. Thanks Richard

I was looking at this shape aswell, do they do spec c in this shape?
https://www.scoobynet.com/subaru-444...sh-import.html
If so are the engines the same? Is it just a different shape, I know some people don't like the shape but I do, if where to go for one of these I could keep my evo 8 mr
