Default Best exhaust.

Need some help please guys. I need to know what the best exhaust is for a newage Blobeye sti for over 400bhp. I currently have a Japspeed full decat 3" exhaust and while being mapped yesterday my mapper said I have an air restriction somewhere which is holding the car back and hence during mapping it was 40 odd bhp down to where it should be and he said it could be the exhaust as the resonator may of failed inside the exhaust so I'm looking at changing the centre section and back box. Don't mind something loud but do not want anything that's going to make my ears bleed or bankrupt me lol.

A pipe from a house radiator would flow better than a japspeed exhaust! Depends what you want ie quiet or loud, a milltek is a great system not too loud.

Must have been lucky as my first 2.1 build on my classic had a ton of issues resulting in poor flow from the exhaust, was ditched and mapped perfectly on another system

A Full 3 inch decatted exhaust should not be restrictive,I was running 400+bhp through a 2.5 Hayward and Scott center pipe and a afterburner backbox.SJ.

I have a full 3" decat exhaust and when it was being mapped my mapper said I have an air restriction somewhere and thought it was more than likely that the resonator had failed in my exhaust centre section or my intake pipe also noticed car had a slight blow from my headers but car was down by 30-35 bhp on V-power to what it should of made. I'm looking at getting it mapped elsewhere in the near future but I just don't want to spend money when there is no need to and just wanted help on the best place to start as funds are tight lol.

Who mapped it?

Likely cause is the leaking manifold and collapsing intake...

So you guys think it's more than likely my intake pipe and the blow/leak from my manifold/Headers rather than my Exhaust centre section?

Yes good to meet you and the green wagon also mate. I'm still fuming about it to be honest. I was around 30-35 bhp down on V-power so I'm hoping it was just the intake pipe (currently trying to get a upgraded one) and the blow from my manifold/headers that was the cause of this. So going to get the pipe changed the blowing sorted then take it to be mapped again.

Unfortunately that's what happens on mapping days. The guy isn't interested in solving or diagnosing issues.

It's like a cattle market, get their money and get you off that dyno as fast as possible so he can get the next poor unsuspecting victims cash....

You can't do a proper map in that time. So you may find its just a poor map....
