Default L50 OOB

I test drove a blue 2003 WRX today with the registration L50 OOB.

It seems at some point over the last 6 years that the original engine has been swapped for an STI engine but I wondered if anyone on here has any knowledge of this car and it's history.

The car had sti badges and interior but the log book definitely had the car down as a WRX.

Any help or advice would be grateful.

Thanks

The car is registered with the DVLA as a: IMPREZA SALOON - 2.0 WRX AWD Turbo 4dr

What makes you think the engine has been replaced?

As you are aware, sticking STI stickers, badgers, floor mats etc does not mean anything...well anything +ve that is.
How much are they asking for it?

Does that look like a genuine STI engine?

Inlet manifold and intercooler look STI, easy swops though.

How many gears did it have?

It's just got the 5 rather than the 6, although after speaking to scoobyworld this is fairly common if the original gearbox was in good condition and it was just the original wrx engine that had blown.
