Has anyone got any pics or can tell me what they have done for the dump valve outlet on the pipe work for a classic fmic system, I'm soon to fit one on my95 and would ideally like to keep the recirc valve so wondering what to do

Mine is a Forge one on a spigot off the intercooler pipe leading to the throttle body. The spigot was there when the pipework was fitted.

What make FMIC, Matt?

You'll need to buy some silicone hose to keep your recirc regardless, so get the tape measure out, or a caliper gauge.

Cheers for the reply and pictures, I just went for the japspeed kit after reading reviews, seems a good enough kit for my needs, not after huge power, just more reliability etc, I'll have a measure up over the weekend

 

Don't forget to get the map looked at once the FMIC is fitted. It flows colder air, so denser, more oxygen, so can run lean without.

 

Ok cheers, already has a simtek ecu so will look to get it mapped as soon as its fitted if I can get hold of one of the better mappers!!!
Just out of curiosity would it be worth looking into a different turbo? I'm not looking at huge figures, 320 would be more than enough and my turbo would probably be ok but being a bit on the old side now and with the fmic fitted would there be anything that could give me a bit more poke in the lower rev range to compensate for the lag

 

TD05 will do that all day long, without knowing your car you'll want bigger injectors and a fuel pump that will cope etc etc etc. You know the sketch.

 

Cool, will keep the turbo then, yeah all the rest has been taken care of, it's just really the fmic I have to take care of, didn't really want to head down this route but the slanty tmic performs so badly, feel it is now essential

Another quick query for fellow v2 owners, will the duct coming from the turbo which keeps cool from the vent on the bonnet have to be removed with fitment of the fmic and if so have you fitted a turbo blanket? Been thinking of doing this anyhow as not fussed on the look of the metal duct!

 

Binned it on mine, never fitted a turbo blanket or anything.
