Oil catch can/pcv crank hose
Any help or advice appreciated. New to posting questions on here so forgive me if I've done anything wrong. Have a 1994 import sti Impreza. Looking at fitting an obp 3 port catch can. It has 3 ports and a breather on top. The ports are listed as 2 inlets and an outlet. Most run the outlet back to inlet or vta. I would pair the head breathers into one inlet and just the crank vent into the other. My question is, instead of running the outlet as vta or back to inlet, could I feed it straight to pcv? Thought it might aid the pulling through of the pressure in the crank and heads. Haven't seen anyone do it this way so may be way off. Thanks in advance
I'm using a 3 port baffled OBP can on a v2 RA so it should be the same as yours.
IRC....
I have one port connected to the crank case breather and the other two to the cam cover spigots. The spigot on top is VTA , the breather runs down the bulk head and exits under the car. I have left the pcv valve vta, I'm not sure if it would pull vapours going back into the inlet. I assume the factory hard plastic pipes are disconnected and the turbo elbow is blanked off.
As it is, the can does an excellent job of seperating residue and no more smoke on start up after hard driving.

Thanks edsel. Might go that way then if your set up works. I'm just putting her all back together now so just gettin info on best plumbing for the catch can. I got the car back after selling it 4 years ago and it needed some love, so I've gone a bit over the top. Could've just had exhaust welded up, new coilpack n good service n wash but you know how it goes "while that's off ill just do that, and I might as well do that as well.the only thing not been apart is the heads n block. Gonna b mainly for track days as I also have a bugeye wrx for day to day.

If buget allows I would also reccomend a baffled oil pan for track days. Alyn @asperformance modifys standard pans for not a lot of money, around £130 IRC when i bought mine a couple of years back.
I got tired of standard coil packs failing and did "new age" conversion, out of all the thousands of pounds spent on my car £100 for the new age conversion has to be the best value mod so far. New age coilpacks now sell for under a hundred a set (make sure you get the tails, makes fitting easier)
These projects tend to grow legs and run away with your wallet
Know wat u mean. Haven't got it yet so will probably do as you have done and get in touch with obp. Thanks for tip on sump
had mine off and had a fabricator make one up for me. I have pics but not sure how to upload on here off iPhone, lol. Also, didn't think bout coilpacks, prob worthwhile as gonna be alcatek' once all back together so don't want the old style breaking down! Is it much of a job to convert them?
I will do what you have done and get obp to make one up! Have already done the sump had it off n got a mate who's a fabricator who did it. got photos but can't work out how to put them on using iPhone! Also did the oil pick up o ring and return o ring. Good tip on coilpacks, having it alcatek'd once all back together so don't want the old ones breaking down! I've gone way further than I thought I would!!
