New Owner - Forester STi
Hi all,
Just put a deposit down today on the above. Currently on a ship and won't see it until early May
But...it gives me time to plan and scheme as to what my first mods will be
First up, an alarm - have been recommended the Toad Ai606...agree/disagree?
Second, Disklok but not sure a small or medium?
Third, probably brakes but will wait to see how the current ones are.
Fourth, a chat with Bob Rawle to encourage me near the edge of that slippery slope and then, well, I won't say anymore incase the wife's reading!
Oh and I've got a bldy huge German Shepherd so decent seat covers are a must! I know, advice on seat covers? OK, I've said enough!
Any help/advice very welcome.

I saw a lovely Blue one in Bath the other day.
Alarm - unless it's for insurance, I'm not sure I'd bother. Who actually ever responds to a car alarm? Do they not come fitted as standard anyway? Visual deterrent is always better. Think you'll need the larger Dislok with the stock airbag wheel.
Brakes - they come with Brembos as standard, no?

No alarms on the FSTI's as its a JDM, that also means no imobiliser also, so a good cat 1 is recommended.
If you are going to have the car remapped, dont go ott, the ej257 isnt a good engine for tuning so 320/330 is more than enough to keep it safe, let Bob map it, hes damned good

As above the FSTi comes with the standard Subaru immobiliser but no alarm.
Also it's fitted with the EJ255 (WRX) engine rather than the EJ257.
(S11 is body code for an SG forester)
Reasonable figures for standard is as above 330/330 but one FSTi has run 360/398 all its life (8yrs) in the UK without any problems, many are higher.
A browse through this thread may be useful.........

Blue is the faster version of the FSTi - don't be fooled by the Nay-Sayers -
Mine achieves about 323 BHP and 378 lb/ft of Torque.
There is an unwritten rule that you have to ask permission to pass through an area already inhabited by another FSTi - we are very territorial

Almost certainly - I'm just up the road - I live on the Mad Mile near Peugeot, so you probably drive passed quite often. We'll have to be careful not to be seen too close to each other
I've certainly seen the Hawkeye as well.
Cheers
