Default New Subaru owner bad signal

Hi all,

I recently bought a 2004 Impreza Wrx Sti Type uk PPP. Seems to be a good honest car. I have all ready fallen in love with. I will try and stick some photos up.

Only niggle I'm having which is now starting to bug me is not having any radio signal lol

I originally thought the radio may be disconnected from the aerial but I had a look today to see it was connected. To try and improve things I put a inline aerial booster powered via the blue wire in and now I can get radio 1 and that's it. Even this crackles.

Since the car has no aerial I assume it already uses a booster hidden in the car somewhere?

Probably a bit random but any help would be much appreciated

When you checked the stereo cables, did you check the blue / white striped cable? This is sometimes forgotten about when a stereo is removed / put back in.

Check my previous project thread mate, scroll down until you see it.....

I'm not 100% sure, but I had the same issues as you and turns out that this was the culprit.

All sorted. Exactly as you said. Blue/white wire feeds out from stereo to power antenna.

Thanks again

Cheers mate.
The backbox is one of the only mods that have been carried out by the previous owner.

I have a receipt that suggests it is a meercat custom exhaust can. 2.5" fit b/box to 4" outrolled tip. and cost £160.

I want to replace it soon with the correct prodrive one.
