Default 2 weeks of pure bad luck

So where do I start..

Over the last 2 years I have been building my blob sti bit by bit doing all the work myself and saving what I can and putting it into the car.. finally 2 weeks ago I finished it. Got car on the road did about 20 miles and boom turbo went smoke covering the road, got car back to garage and took turbo off the car and half a litre of oil in the turbine! Anyway so sent turbo back to supplier and got it back the week after all sorted.. fitted it back to the car, started it up and no smoke running like a dream! Really happy loving it! Got the car to the local valeting company for a 2 stage buff and it looked awesome! That night was out in the car not driving it to hard car still on low boost 1.4 bar 400/400 on a fully forged 2.0 with spec c heads.. not pushing it At all! Bang bottom end went.. managed to limp the car home and put it back in the garage.. to say I'm gutted is a absolute understatement 😕..

But at least it looks well..

Thanks pal, spoke to Andy at WMS today about building me another engine, not going to be cheap. Put everything I had into finishing it was looking forward to Spa and nurburg spring with it. Got a Suzuki GSXR so that's going up for sale unfortunately to help fund it.. 😕

Bottom end has completely gone knocking it's nuts off! Car was running and boosting great. Like I said only on low boost so not even pushing it. Had my standard 2.0 at 460/420 for 2 years no problem at all

so either engine builder or mapper is to blame unless you can pinpoint another issue that caused the failure.

Yeah well engine builder got ill last year and disappeared, mapper ran it in and said it ran in fine and was a quiet engine so not sure who to go to apart from strip it see what's salvageable and go from there

So a freshly built properly mapped motor let's go after just 97 miles ???

I guess you've spoken to the builder about fixing it ??

Shame to here, these cars can be very testing at times. I remember my old blob when I'd finished building it, took it over to the ring and straight off in to a barrier on the 2nd lap. Hit some oil put down by a 944. Thankfully most things can be fixed and once back in the UK I had it stripped down and rebuilt.

Bad news fella, not a great deal you can do then.

When you say "mapper ran it in", did you lend him your car for a while then ??

Yeah I was planning spa and ring trip in March time but may have to go on back burner 😕. In talks with Andy at WMS about building me a 2.35 bottom end now if I can sell my bike and go from there..

Cheer mate yeah I'm only 24 trying to build and run my own business as well as build and get the car ready. Was like a kid at Xmas when I finally got behind the wheel after all the money and effort! But these cars are here to test us I'm that far into the car now I can't turn back. Not just the engine I've done all the suspension, handling, breaks etc mods so I'm thousands in and can't give up.
