Default Clutch Advice

What clutches are people running with power around 400-450bhp. 6 speed.

Read about the Competition clutch, but very mixed reviews. A lot of Judder as well.

Thanks,

As far as I am aware the Exedy pink box should do the job

There was a recall on exedy pinks, hence why I went for the comp clutch. 3 of my mates are also running the CC with no problems including a 400bhp blob that did 10+ runs at santa pod and a 2.5 type r.

Why were these recalled? I'm running a exedy pink box on my 6 speed but it's fairly new, should I be worried?
Cheers

Talk to Bob at Aztec, it was earlier this year as it was what I wanted in mine but they, and another supplier both said they had put a hold on selling them. When I looked at the price of a pink vs the comp clutch, and saw the power ratings it made sense to spend the extra £20 on a CC

Thanks.
Unfortunately it was fitted to my car by previous owner just before I bought it.
All seems ok but will just have to see how it goes. I've not launched or driven the car hard yet as I want to make sure the map and a few other things are safe first.

no you shouldn't, we have been a direct distributor for Exedy Europe for far longer than i care to remember and there has NEVER been any recall or issue with these items and certainly not in the past year

as with most products these days there are / have been copies if purchased from a non direct source.............

if your worried at all contact Exedy Europe direct (or ourselves) and we can assist in confirming the source is genuine

Thank you Alyn. It was fitted by East Kent Subaru along with the 6 speed box just a couple of months ago. I personally haven't had any dealings with them but from what I've read they're a reputable outfit.

They were not recalled, that was bobs tactic of selling the CC due to him being removed as a excedy supplier

I have a cc stage 2 in mine, and it is nice and smooth with no judder, have just done around 500 miles in it so far.
