Whistling Boost Gauge

I had an Autometer boost gauge fitted by a main dealer recently and was initially happy with it even though it "whistled" slightly ( and apart from them wiring up the lights incorrectly, meaning my fog lights were permanently on!).
However, thinking about it there shouldn't be any noise from the gauge, or at least not continuous noise while on-boost unless there's a leak at the back of the gauge. Max boost reads as about 13 - 14 psi, which as far as I know is normal.
I haven't listened to another boost gauge so I don't know if it should make a noise at all. Is this normal?

Simon,
Take the boost gauge out, and tighten up the bolt at the back of it. I had a similar problem with my Autometer boost gauge when I first fitted it.
Unbolt it, make sure there is an olive (??) there (brass bit, tapered at both ends with a hole in the middle), push the tube in as far as it will go, and then tighten it up.
It shouldn't be leaking an air!
Any problems, drop me a mail.

I concur with all the above comments. Use plenty of PTFE tape (I got it from Homebase for 79p) and make sure the union is square and the nut is really tight.
My (VDO) gauge drove me nuts for a while when it did this - it was like driving a different car when I sorted it out.
