Hatchback STi exhaust options/opinions
OK, so I've had an H&S full decat (2.5") fitted for a few weeks and TBH I'm finding it a bit loud (it's quite boomy inside the cabin), so I'd like some options and opinions of what else there is! I'm planning on keeping the decat downpipe, so it'll be cat-back that I'm looking at.
I have a Remus backbox, which was my original plan along with the centre pipe to match. Are these much louder than standard?
Cobra/Scorpion what are they like?
Or do I just dynamat the boot and be done with it

The Remus backbox is about the same volume as standard (Hardly noticeable and then perks up a little when the foot goes down), they also sit quite far back as standard and are not to my taste so I could not wait to get rid of it.
I have the ProDrive backbox now which has a nice burble and looks great, though I'm going custom again in a weeks time as that is the only way I can get the look and sound I'm after.

Might be worth a look at miltek. They are apparently a bit quieter than the H&S. I've got a full decatted prodrive system (330S) at the moment and it's too quiet for me (plus a pain at MOT time). It's taken some time but I have managed to get hold of a second hand full turbo back miltek with sport cat for a bargain price. I'm currently polishing it up ready for fitting.

Cheers guys, might fit the Remus for now and look at other options to see if I can land a bargain! Looks are less important to me than the volume.
How much louder than standard is the Prodrive box? Does it just improve the rumble?

Yeah you only really hear when up the revs tho i suspect if you get rid of the centre section silencer itll open up the noise a bit better. Apparently tho they does sound well outside the car
I actually love the style of the remus ovals though they wont look right if you have the exhaust trims on the rear diffuser

So I've checked with Revolution and they've confirmed that the REmus centre exhaust is slip joints not flanges, which is mad as that wouldn't mate to their own back box?!?!
Anyway, if I was to go with the standard centre pipe is the resonator restrictive? There are some on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Subaru-Imp...item28055a696a and so I'm thinking the quick and dirty solution is to fit that with the Remus back box (and I guess book it in for a map check)

or.....
the scorpion section is flanged, and slip jointed the centre section comes in 2 pieces as seen here:-
http://www.scorpion-exhausts.com/pro...tml?autoid=356
i emailed them about it a few weeks back, and you can buy the centre section & link pipe for £200+vat
its resonated though so might just be the same as a standard centre section

Nice hatch mate.
I have to say Invidia 300 they sound amazing.
Im going to go for either Invidia 300 or the Cobra its the only 2 that sound nice for the hatch.
Everything else is rubbish.
I have been doing a lot of research and videos.
The BLITZ NUR Spec is the one i wanted but its too quiet.
They have gone down from 96db to 92db thats very quiet.

Whereabouts in Surrey are you? I'm North Hants so you could always pop over and hear mine, it's half the volume with the resonator but still loud. It's a 2.5" though but given the volume of mine before the resonator I'd imagine a 3" would not be popular with my neighbours...
