Default 110A alternator

My alternator is making slight screeching noises and the battery is not holding any charge ( replaced battery 6 months ago), as far as I am aware the standard alternator is 90amps, would ther be any adverse affects after fitting a 110 amp alternator?

Would an uprated alternator charge the battery quicker and easier?

Thanks

Model and year of your car?

It might be a smart alternator, do a search.

Thanks for the reply, it is a smart alternator, my car is a widetrack blob, the 100a alternator is from an Outback (smart alternator aswell).

And do you drive around with a load on it, eg internal fan, hrw, etc, in order that it will charge the battery?

Any squeaking may just be new bearings required a decent auto electrics place will do it for £30.

I do yes, air conditioning on the lowest setting, the battery doesnt seem to hold any charge, I cant think what could be draining the battery, I'm only getting just under 12v using a multi meter.

Have the alt tested by a decent electrics place, www.yell.com is your friend.
