Default Swapped my forged hawk and the new owner having issues

It's forged and remapped and when booting it, sometimes it would hold back a bit then kick in again, he said this happened on his way home:

when coming back started holding back and would only accelerate at full throttle then when i came off motorway the car died like id switched engine off? Got home let it cool down went for a quick spin and kangarooing like hell?
Yeah drove fine till got to motorway gave it a tickle and it held back so i floor it and was ok then driving in 5th at 80mph and started surging came off motorway and wentvl around rounadbout and it felt like id stamped on brakes fkin **** mesen thought it had gone bang
I've heard someone mention knock sensors can be affected by forged engines - I've never had it cut out on me and used it every day 30+ miles, does this sound like something obvious?

Ah, so the car is yours.
I would be asking the previous owner some serious questions them.

Sounds like he's given it a ragging on the way home to me.

Could be one of the coil packs too.

I think subarus when they have been modded heavily & driven by owner style & characteristics , they don't take kindly to differences ( I'm not saying all but just look back over the years how the cars react & change with different mods so you compensate & learn to drive it different ... So a new owner jumps in & is loving it , gives it beans , bang throws a rod or kills the gearbox ( happens all the time
As for the prob above , could be a simple Maf issue ,, purchasing a car personally I would get it re mapped again regardless , just so I could understand its characteristics lol
