Default METASAT tracker

I have just 'livened' up my tracker on my 2011 WRX STI. However I now seem to be getting text messages informing me that my alarm has been activated when I have unlocked my car. The alarm hasn't sounded once.

Just wondering if anyone has experienced this?

As far as I know the MetaSAT unit will only respond to an alarm trigger output from the Sigma unit fitted to the car.
An obvious question, but is the alarm itself functioning correctly, is the LED by the clock showing the correct setting States, does the siren work if you set it off? You can test it by jacking the car when it's alarmed, the tilt sensors are quite sensitive!
The other thing is the car still in warranty, if so get it back to a dealer and let them sort it.

leave your bonnet on the sneck.. set the alarm.. wait.. then open the bonnet will set the alarm off too.

mines texted me today.. saying battery is LOW.. then the alarm was going off... then a text to say battery had been disconnected :/


got it on charge now

If anyone still using their Metasat Tracker is having difficulties trying to login to the Subaru Telematic Services site


The site has been moved from their old ".co.uk" website to their ".net" website.

Default Can't access Octotelematics to pay for the metasat tracker sub!

OK, Site works, and I found a changed password, so CAN log in to check / pay for comms credits!
Looks like I am OK until May this year!


Yeah, having trouble. One site vanished, the .IT one goes to some corporate site, teh .net one works BUT does not recognise my uer name and/or password!
Bit stuck as I can't see any password reset on screen.

When we last had Metasat / Octotelematics trouble it was a pain to phone them via london to a foreign call centre!

Any one any ideas?

I see reset on the Home Screen. Did you try that? They definitely have my email address and mobile number. Have they yours? Maybe try a different browser.

The reset just clears the entered user name / password.

Finally found a mail from them when they had changed my password earlier in the year when we had the trouble with the Metasat not giving address details. I hadn't written it down and Google hadn't updated it!

For those still with MetaSat
Since January 2023, I've been unable to receive replies to SAT STATUS requests from Octotelematics Italy, although they were receiving the request and apparently replying and supplied me with the info.
Despited many enquiries with Customer Support we were unable to solve the problem, which may have been related to an Android 13 problem (Samsung S22+).

However today my phone eventually updated to Android 14/1UI6.0, so I'd thought I'd try again and low and behold received an immediate reply, but from a UK number +447561247661 instead of the original Italian number +393399903344
Have asked for confirmation.

How did you liven up your tracker? I've had my 2009 hatch for about 8 months and been trying to get it set up since. The last time I had a Subaru I was told I had to go to a main dealer, and they were clueless and didn't end up getting it set up.
