If you had the choice what would you go for, MY97-98 Type-R Sti or a MY95-96 Ra- Sti?

Well for me it's got to be the V3 STI Type R which is why I have one in my garage.

not a big fan of prefacelift, so would be a v5 or later. As far as type r or ra, would have to be an STI but i'd be happy with either of the two

I'd go for the car in the best condition.

The earliest RA WRX STI I could get, a little less weight, for me the ultimate drivers scooby and most resembles the 4 door rally car that Colin Mcrae won the 1995 World Rally Championship in.
..which is why I'll have one this time next year
Tom.

Cant beat a nice classic 2 or 4 door for looks, They have dropped in price so your avarage ned can own them, An enthusiasts classic will be classed the same by narrow minded people but a true subaru enthusiast knows the classic is a iconic car.

Condition aside, I'd go for an early RA.

I honestly think that further down the line the RA will be a far more desirable car than an R.
