Default Impreza type r importing from Japan ?

hi, has anyone imported a car from Japan recently.. There are some great cars at good prices. The cost of the car with shipping is good. Is there any import tax in the uk and is it easy to register it here. I am after a type r. Does anyone no sites that sell no runners or accident damaged ones. Thanks

What sites are you looking at, as even the auction prices are going sky high at the mo! There is allot of costs involved importing one in, after the Japan and shipping costs you have, duty and Vat to pay on total costs including shipping and customs handling charge. Then insurance and transport cost from UK docs to home then all conversion work for UK roads and any repairs before MOT then registration with DVLA and new plates. Hope this helps

P.S. What grades are you looking at?
