Subaru has readied a new rallycross fighter based on the 2015 WRX STI and dubbed the VT15x. It will make its world premiere at the New York Auto Show this week.

Made to compete in Red Bull Global Rallycross and X Games Rallycross, it was built by Subaru technical partner Vermont SportsCar.

The thing that really bothers me about the 2015 STI, in all the guises I've seen it in, is that the wheels just look too damned small. They just feel out of proportion, aesthetically speaking. I'm sure they're the size they are for a very good reason.

Lots of wheel gap in the front.

Well yeah, but if you've ever watched GRC (it gets aired on Motors TV) they tend to have at least 1 dirt jump, so they need a lot of travel.
