What can a version 2 fully closed deck engine happily run on standard internals?

And what bar of boost can it hold?

It has the jap 5speed short ratio box

There is no right answer to your question. Some last and some don't, ive got one here which let go at 300bhp. That doesn't mean yours won't run happily at 350 though.
The engines are old now so you should always be prepared for the worst.

On standard internals it will run exactly the same hp as a open deck block before it lets go. It is the internals that $hit themselves, very rarely the block (though have seen a few that have developed 'windows' where a piston has been desperate to get out!).

CDB only really comes into its own when the internals have been uprated and you start to run big power. Anything above 500bhp should involve a CDB in the build.
