What pressure for 225/40*18 Toyo R888 on newage?
I've just bought a set of 225/40*18 Toyo R888 on 8" rims & was wondering what pressure I should run them at?
I've been running budget 225/40's on 7.5" rims with 32psi all round which seemed to work well but I've read somewhere that Prodrive recommended 33 front & 31 rear, is this true for all tyres or should it vary depending on tyre spec'?
I have no idea if the sidewalls on R888's are stiffer than normal or not or even if that would make any difference?
The car is an my51 Bugeye wrx with exe-tc coilovers.

If you're talking trackdays, set them to something like 26 front and 24 rear, do a few laps - come in and immediately check them. You'll probably find them in the mid 30's when hot.
Try and get them to 30/28 HOT - that's what's worked for me.

Thanks Fonzey, I doubt I will be doing any track days but I am planning another ring trip for this year so will bear that in mind.
I ended up having them filled with Nitrogen & set to 33 front & 31 rear which seems to work.nicely although I haven't really pushed them yet, one thing I have noticed is how noisy they are!
At around 30mph the humming is so be it sounds like a different or the gearbox is about to let go!, it gets a little quiter at speed but still very drony!.
