Default Sunny day, off work, blast in my new car

So, I've had my first Scooby (2003 WRX) just over a fortnight but I've been busy in work. I've only really used it for the motorway commute and not really had a chance to properly get to know it.

Anyway, I've taken a week off work, the sun's out and I've had my first real opportunity to take it out for a long drive just for the sheer hell of it. Around £20 worth of V-Power later I've arrived home with the biggest grin on my face. I've totally fallen in love with the car and I now see what all the fuss is about.

I've had all four windows and the sunroof open, heater cranked up, heated seat on and taken it for a blast on all the best roads I know that are local to me. With the windows down I got the full benefit of the aftermarket exhaust note (slightly louder than standard but not too loud), heard the burble on the over-run and listened to the turbo spooling up each time I tested the safe overtaking power.

What I found on some of the more undulating roads was that I was backing off, expecting to hear the scrape of sump on tarmac or the thud of bump stops (as I would have in other sports cars I've owned). But it turned out I was being overly cautious because the suspension really did soak up the bumps very well.

I think this car's definitely a keeper!

Glad its met your expectations, they are indeed "different" and a real drivers car.

I actually took my camera with me but never got around to stopping to take pictures! I've only got the original pics from the advert when I bought it.

He's already said he's not keen on them either, in his last thread.

Get up some pictures on your next drive, Jealous you have heated seats

My nuts aren't to everyone's taste. They were the only thing I was unsure about when I bought it and will probably be the first thing I change on it. But I can't see them when I'm driving.

I will get some pics next time, whenever that it (Missus is 9 months and 1 day gone, so I won't have as much spare time soon!) I really didn't see the point of heated seats in a tin-top car but now I do. Its so you can listen to the engine with the windows down in the winter.

S202? I've got some learning to do with my Subaru's! I'm googling it now!

£20 VPOWER? Just a quick spin around the block
I used to meet up with the lads from North Wales a few years ago, before petrol prices went silly, the last run we had, well put it this way started with a full tank filled up again at lunch time and again on the way home worked out at about 8mpg! Big smiles good times

I say £20 somewhat optomistically - but the gauge has gone from around 3/4 to 1/4 today, so half a tank (more like £30)? Not sure on the distance. But, on the plus side, triple points on V-Power at the moment, so I'm actually saving money by driving more!

I used to think nothing of draining a full tank in North Wales on weekends, be it in my V6 Cortina or vast array of old, straight-six BM's. In the days before I had a mortgage, kids and a woman watching over my finances.

Can't really argue with what your saying, from all the cars I have owned I used to just max them until I was bored and moved on

But the Subaru I still have fun in and I can't push past it's limits on the uk roads

Mine is a second car which I often think about selling but when I go out In it, it knocks those thoughts for months on end!

Very fun cars I've had mine for 3 years near enough now and normally get shut of cars after a year so I'm going good
