Default Got Me A Blob Eye WRX!

Hi everyone,

Just purchased This little beauty! I'm very happy with it!

Its a 2003 wrx with 59k miles on the clock, full Subaru service history and 2 owners from new. Set me back £3950. Came with a WR SPORT exhaust and the OZ wheels.

Big plans for the old girl, I'm so excited! Its my first Turbo'd car, i did have a Scooby sport before so not exactly new to Impreza's - however this is so much nicer and faster!

Let me know what you all think good or bad!

Thanks

CJ

P.S it does need a clean so don't judge!

Ok lets try Photobucket!!!

Nice but as ditch says, you can see all your photos. Load the car photos to photo bucket and delete the Facebook links

Nice. I paid £4750 for 05 WRX in Aug 2013. Prices seem to be on the up!

STI wing, lower it, bigger wheels, front splitter and ...... polish it. Then, you'll be there!

Nice car I've got an 05 black wrx with 330bhp

the wrx is a great car and can be modded up to 340bhp quite easily and cheaply. I you want to go higher than 350bhp, sell it and get an sti.

330 bhp that requires full exhaust including up pipe and a turbo swap and a remap and idealy injectors and a fuel pump. I Wouldnt call that cheap but you can start hunting deals on parts bit by bit

100 bhp for £1000? IMO that's a bargain, maybe not so 'cheap' it depends how you interpret my comment.

You can also buy bit's when you can afford them, so it's not just one big bill

Yeah I can't wait to get some decent power out of the old girl!

I think first thing for me is a decent exhaust. I want it loud to be honest. I love the sound of the burble!

try to hear an exhaust before you buy one. some are deep and burble, but some are raspy. others are quiet at low rev's, but come to life at higher RPM

If you want loud, have a look for 'Nur Spec' (loud) or 'Team Ice' (very loud)

I've watched a few videos on YouTube and i like the sound of the Nur Spec but cant justify spending that much on a exhaust!

I think im going to go fot the afterburner raptor back box, afterburner centre pipe to start with. Then see how decatting goes!

If you use the car a lot, reconsider that choice. I know its appealing to have a loud exhaust but it will get on your **** after a week or so.

Plus it will drone like hell on the motorway.

Consider a prodrive back box or ninja/ninja 2.

I have an afterburner vortex with a de-res centre and sports cat and I found it silly loud.

A bung will make it quieter but it is a big restriction on the gas flow, it will reduce your bhp under full throttle.

I have got a J performance 3" system with full decat, it sounds good and is loud enough.

To be honest at the moment im not too fussed about how loud it is.

I currently have the WR sport back box so if worse came to worse i could just pop that back on!

Whats the best decat downpipe to get? I might be wrong but does the STI have one as standard and its a straight swap?

Appreciate all the feedback so far guys!

A decat on a newage will throw a cel error light on your dash. Plus, I believe they are not as good at coping with a decat without a remap.

I have got a sports cat and my car bloody flies on the standard map.

Sti has normal catted downpipe though Sti PPP versions have a 400cel? sportscat downpipe.

Get a decat up-pipe and sports downpipe. It'll throw the odd cat efficiency cel when cruising on motorways etc until it's mapped, especially when the weather is cold. Also a little risky giving the car the beans before a map.

Here's my sportscatted 330bhp WRX recording a time only Newage STI's can dream of, with budget tyres on a damp track.
