Keep the GB270 or go JDM
Right I appreciate how much of a daft question this is on the face of it but bare with me.
At the moment I've got an 07 GB270 that's had all the sensible chassis mods done I.e. Coilovers, AP brakes, braided hoses, whiteline ARB and rear alloy droplinks. Problem is I'm now thinking about upping the power and the potential for gearbox/engine issues stands out in my mind. Then I got browsing the Hurst Cars site and they've got a JDM hawk STi coming in that's caught my eye.
So am I best off keeping the money and addressing the potential engine/transmission issues of the GB270 should they arise, or does it make more sense to trade it in against the JDM hawk?

Why a JDM hawk WRX??? its not a twin scroll 2 litre like the STi, im pretty sure its the 2.5 sh1te engine, as the WRX is the car you pick if your a OAP and you dont want a fast car but you want 4wd so you dont get stuck in the snow.
And why would you import a WRX?? You would pay so much in shipping, import costs etc etc it would be a £10k car once in the UK and £10k could get you a proper Impreza.

Another point is do what you like too the wrx and when you sell it,it's still a wrx and this reflects in the price.
The sti will hold its value, more so a jdm version

Hence my problem, i'm looking at 2.5k for the 6 speed conversion and a forged build on the engine is realistically more than the cars worth.
This is the car on Hursts site that I'm referring to by the way. Can't say i'm a fan of the wing but that's easily sorted.

I'd say drive the Spec C first as from what I can tell they're not for everyone. then take a look at the numbers £££ is going to be the key really, I presume the Spec C is around the £15k mark, also intended use.
Then if you decide to go for the Spec C as above remove your AP's which are the same as mine and better than the brembos, if you like your coilovers and other chassis mods transfer them to the Spec C.
To me it's the cost to change and what you get for that cost that would be the deciding factor along with how well it suits your needs, it's not all about letters, it's about the numbers.
I do agree though that the WRX will always be just a modded WRX, the question to ask is, do you care.
P.S; JDM WRX is 2.0L with avcs heads.

So would the ARBs and rear droplinks fit the STI or are they different?

The discs are 2 piece, so if i'm really desperate I could just swap the bells for 114pcd versions. Would leave the coilovers on the car as they were fitted to replace nackered shocks and they're only cheap BC's so they aren't the best in the world.
