Hello all. I was pondering buying an STI-7 but have concluded that they cost a little too much for just thrashing around.

I have seen 2 nice STI-6's at www.warrender.co.uk. A blue type "555" and a grey one. Both are 16.5k and have 29k miles on them with full history. Are these prices about right?? Anything else you wish to add please do. Thank you.

...both are 1999, one on an "S" other a "T"

I had a good market trade in price on my RA at Warrenders against an E7 recently. With any dealer its the price to swop which is important they can offer me 50p for mine as long as the reduce the price of the car they are selling me . They also have 2 very nice 22bs and a yellow Evo 5 unregistered with a hundred miles or so. Seriously tempted to go down the 22B route now .

The cars at Warrenders are nicely turned out and all are in good condition but obviously apart from looking I have never dealt with them (yet).

If you buy either, make sure you get the 30k service done in the deal. £450 at the main dealer.

BRUN - OK mate. Shall do. Would you say they are about right price wise?? I know they might be a bit more than a private sale but that is to be expected.

Not an expert on the sti's. I paid £14.5k last july for a Dec 1998 uk car, if that helps. I'm sure one of the sti boys will give the the info required. Good luck! How much is the 7?

STI-7 is about 22k on the road from www.motorpoint.co.uk for a brand new one. A lot of money for a car that is built to be thrashed. I'd be constantly worried about it.

7's are very nice though.

I think if you have the money for the 7 then i think i would have that. Seems a very good price for a new car.

Or of course you could buy a car which has already been thrashed for 30000 miles.

Just trying to help.

Alright Dave??

What I mean is that they seem to "nice and new" to be lashed by a hooligan like me. It is a bit bad to thrash a car that really is so...well....nice.

Prefer an older one that I can not give two ***** about. I've had enough of worrying about cars - aint worth it. Anyways, what do you reckon about those 2 STIs??

I thrashed my car the moment I drove it haome and filled it up. That is what it is designed to do. And they do the job very well.

How about an RB5WR? I know someone who has got one of these for sale? PPP and decat exhaust? about 250 bhp. cheap too.

I really like the idea of an STI (snobbery). RB5 are very nice indeed though. Do us a favour Dave and check out those 2 scoobies at HTTP://www.warrender.co.uk and follow "showroom" and Impreza. One is an STI 555 in blue. The other is an STI in grey.

Reply to this thread with an opinion please mate, I trust your advice.

They are nice. But I would always try and get a UK spec car. Maybe someone who has got an import can tell you more about any pit falls.

I know the insurance is more.

I always though warrender charge too much IMHO of course

Keep an eye on the for sale section in here, there may be an RA in there now.

I have just put my M3 in the autotrader for 3 weeks at £13'895. Well under-priced in my opinion but I must sell it to get another motor.

I will put a for sale thing on scoobynet now.

I have an import, don't let it bother you.

IIRC, the only actual 555 limited edition was the STI 3. I remember someone asking me about it a while ago.

You have to remember that everyone is an expert in the 2nd hand car market. No one will pay what its worth, every one wants a bargain, and its tough selling a car at the moment.

Good luck, you need to get one before the SIDC day at Donnington.

Warrenders do seem a very "Professional" outfit Highly professional in fact.

I'll see if I can sell my M3 then I have money to buy - its easy then!!

Lubrication did have the desired effect however I received a smack upside the head.

I think I'll just put her under a general anasthetic and do the lot!!

Afterwards I can look myself in the mirror - CONGRATULATION!!
