Saab 9-3 VS Subaru Impreza
Hi everyone,
Can you advice me what car is better in terms of reliability, performance, maintenance. My favorite choices are:
Saab 9-3 2.0 Turbo petrol engine
http://www.carmaniac.co.uk/overview/...id-602/reviews
Subaru Impreza 2.5 engine
http://www.carmaniac.co.uk/overview/.../modifications
Will be grateful for your advice!
Nigel

Are you serious? Completely different types of car.
If considering a 2.5 Impreza, do some research on the well noted engine issues.
But really...Saab vs Impreza. What an odd comparison.

Having owned several of both makes there is no doubt they are aimed at quite different markets. The Saabs I have owned, a 900 & 2 93 turbos, have mostly been reliable, comfortable, resonable handling and reasonably quick. The Imprezas, all newage Sti versions, were (and are) very reliable, not that comfortable but much quicker with good handling.
I had a Hirsch performance upgrade on one of the 93s, which bumped it up to around 250bhp. The first Sti would have left it for dead though, and the current one with well over 400bhp is in a totally different league. All my Imprezas had/have 2ltr engines, and with the poor press the 2.5 gets I would not be keen to own one of these.
However, if you're off to a country house party for Christmas you might prefer to show up in a Saab!
