Default Blobeye 60mm air vent gauge install

Santa is bringing me one of these for xmas so i can keep an eye on my oil temp after my engine build, just want to know when im at a safe level before opening her up

http://rspec.co.uk/b-gauges-b/evo-lc...prosport-gauge

Im toying with the idea of fitting into the drivers side dash air vent as its pretty useless and in a good location if im only running with a single gauge.

Anyone out there done this as im after a bit of a walk through, im not keen on butchering the dash and would like to reverse the process if i decide to add more gauges with a dash top pod in the future.

not coming up with much via the search button and information is pretty sketchy on the net.

Siv

Mine sits at 85 during the winter but I have a thermostatic oil cooler and it opens at 85 anyway

Doesn't exactly answer his question.
Personally Sivo I'd opt for the dash mounted three gauge set up. It's worth doing and having oil temp, oil pressure and boost. Plus with at at eye level it's safer than taking your eyes off the road.

Don't drive hard until at operating temp is the answer!
Which is 85 in my case.

I use the three pod defi gauge on the dash too, and i agree its much better than one down too the right
also oil pressure is good idea too keep an eye on.

If yours opens up at 85 it ain't really getting warm Dan? As that's opening and trying to drag the temps back down surely.
