Default Methanol remap

Has anyone ever added methanol with a car running a td04 turbo with remap. I'am just curious as to what sort of results you would get.

I think the turbo will max out around 270ish at redline but the engine will probly blow before that .

my cusion added meth to his 2.5 simiclosedeck blobeye fully forged dyno tested 446bhp car had map to run meth (SC46 turbo I think) I told him not to wen we ran it the diffrance in speed was amazineing for 10secs then it ended up costing him under 4000 to get repaired

never a tdo4. but it should add a nice bit of torque.

Provided mapped properly using meth isnt going to cause an engine to blow. although ofcourse the added torque could depending on the health of your engine

There are other factors beyond what power gains you might get you should be aware of before considering adding methanol.

Assuming you have the ECU mapped properly for meth then as already said you shouldn't have any issues with the engine. Typically the positives to be had for a 20% meth mix are you might see gains in bhp of between 5% and 8% depending on other engine mods, coupled with a cooler inlet charge, and some small improvement to turbo spooling.

However, aside from its inherent toxicity (google it), meth is very corrosive and can cause quite severe issues with fuel system components such as pumps, filters and pipes if they are not made of compatible materials.

You will also need to make some kind of arrangement for being able to run straight pump fuel for when you don't have methanol available. Don't say it will never happen because the chances are it will. So you need two maps available, not the end of the world, but you need to consider it.
